Seattle, WA. –September 4, 2019 –Daniels Real Estate announced today that it has started construction on its condominium tower at 800 Columbia Street in Seattle’s historic First Hill neighborhood, between 8th and 9th Avenues.

At 31-stories with 271 condominium homes, 800 Columbia will be a sophisticated tower designed by the award-winning firm LMN Architects featuring distinguished exterior and interior finishes.

Red Propeller has been retained to market and sell the residences which will range from 404 to 1,538 sq. ft and include studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes from the mid $400,000 to $1.5 million. There will also be four penthouses between 1,809 –2,254 sq. ft. that have not yet been priced.

“800 Columbia is a quintessential Seattle address in arguably Seattle’s most historic residential neighborhood within walking distance to downtown,” said Kevin Daniels. “We have taken our time to bring together a talented team of professionals who know Seattle’s heritage and unique qualities which will be layered into the design of the building.”

Part of the project’s commitment to honoring its First Hill context is a signature, two-story tiered open space designed to enhance the 8thAvenue Tree Walk which includes iconic urban trees and species not found in most downtown neighborhoods.

“We believe that great architectural design combined with real place making provides for a more vibrant community, added Daniels. “First Hill is one of our legacy neighborhoods and we want to enhance and reflect its keepsake charm.”

Construction is anticipated to be completed by Winter of 2021. Marketing and Sales will commence in the Spring of 2020. More specifics about the condominium tower, including details on the sales process, will be unveiled at that time.

There is about 12 more feet of soil removal required to get to the bottom of the excavation.  The contractor will finish placing tie backs in the next few weeks.   Once at the bottom of the excavation, the contractor will begin laying the matt slab and then start upward with concrete to finish the parking garage.

A crane foundation will be installed.  The crane that will be installed is similar to the building at 2nd and Stewart, the crane will be free standing for several floors.

Notice: 6/26/2019

Due to the testing of soil, Turner is one day behind schedule. Turner expected to average 5,100 yards of soil per day during 8 weeks of excavation. Turner hopes to make-up the one day and get back on schedule.

Notice: 5/22/19

Construction will begin on 5/22/19.  The parking element will be put in place.  Turner will begin with two rigs on site and drill holes that will eventually hold the tieback.
